The Tshepang Care Centre in Tembisa, was visited by representatives from Young Professional JHB and the Women Initiative Network JHB advocates and extended employees of Caterpillar Africa, Caterpillar Southern Africa & Progress Rail; whom were inspired by the seed that was planted in Mum’s Sarah and Patience’s hearts by showing love, compassion and a yearning for the betterment of every child’s life that they encounter.
Tshepang Care Centre is situated in the midst of what 'seems' like no hope of the Vusimuzi Informal Settlement and the Mooifontein Cemetery. Mum’s Sarah, Patience and their support staff extended their hand in trying to alleviate poverty and ensuring those less fortunate have the opportunity for growth through education and support.
We are in awe of the generousity showed towards the children and community - restoring hope to the hopeless.
This year they have approximately four young individuals in grade 12, three at tertiary level. One encouraging factor once again giving hope; one of the beneficiaries who grew up in the centre, has now graduated and secured employment. This is as a result of the astute leadership of Mum's Sarah and Patience, who are selfless, relentless, and passionate about making a difference in the community with their support.
United Way South Africa is proud to be associated with the centre and highly appreciates the unwavering caring commitment from the Young Professional JHB and the Women Initiative Network JHB advocates & extended employees of Caterpillar Africa, Caterpillar Southern Africa & Progress Rail. Stakeholders donated hygiene kits, to the orphaned individuals and hope to make great strides.
In the words of Tshepang Care Centre – ‘You teach a child, you teach the nation.’
