Providing Students with Extra Support

Youth Success Programme

What a wonderful and inspirational day we had at Tetema Secondary School in Mokopane, Limpopo. We celebrated the performance and achievements of Grade 9 and 12 in Maths. United Way South Africa as part of its Youth Success Programme, facilitates after school, weekend and school holidays extra classes for Maths, Science and English.

Tetema Secondary School

We are excited to share the programme progress from the school. The school has improved tremendously to number 2 in the district.

Feedback from Grade 12 girl-learner: 'We have improved a lot this year, and we owe our success to the teachers as well as the extra support by United Way. We aim for 100%, and nothing else.'

Feedback from Grade 12 boy-learner: 'The extra classes have really helped me and my classmates. We are getting better and better. Many thanks to the Principal, teachers and United Way. We shall make you proud.'

Feedback from Grade 9 girl-learner: 'I am grateful for leadership from our Principal who encourages us to attend, especially Maths extra classes. My Maths performance was very week. I have improved very much. Thank you United Way for choosing our school and introducing the extra classes. When I grow up and become rich, I am going to invest into this programme. I want to see other kids getting the same opportunity as i have. Thank you.'
