Fundraising for schools

United Way South Africa today visited one of our beneficiary schools in Mamelodi, Tshwane, called Ndima Primary School. In the presence of our United Way Worldwide, Africa VP, Teju Abisoye, we have witnessed the beauty of the school and how well maintained it is, and the mobile classrooms and ablution facilities sponsored in partnership with Ford South Africa, in Pretoria. There is no doubt that we still need to do more, as the school continues to have capacity and other systemic challenges.

You can agree that 1200 children with 45 or so on average in a class, is a huge challenge for basic education to thrive. More classes as a result, are needed urgently. There is also a need for a Staff Room as the current one is too small for all the teachers.

On a very cold day like this, it is heart-warming to see pupils braving the harsh weather, most of them ferried by local busses to the school as they stay far etc. They need warm school uniform, long socks and shoes urgently. The little that we all can do would be appreciated, so please work with us to make their lives a little better.
