UNITED WAY SOUTH AFRICA TEAMS UP WITH FORD TO ADVANCE THE COMMON GOOD IN DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES – UNITED FOR EDUCATION.
Pretoria, South Africa: September, 15 2021: United Way South Africa (UWSA), the country entity of United Way Worldwide (UWW), has partnered with Ford Motor Company South Africa to advance the common good - assisting learners from disadvantaged communities get the equal opportunities for learning.
Early childhood is the most rapid period of development in human life, during which all children progress through a sequence of physical, cognitive, and emotional stages. A clean and safe space to learn and play is one of the most significant component of early childhood stimulation.
United Way South Africa, in partnership with Ford has erected and refurbished two mobile classrooms at Ndima Primary School in Mamelodi, Pretoria.
The mobile classrooms will be used by the Grade R's (Reception year) enrolled at the school.
Today, we can proudly announce the launch of the furnished mobile classrooms.
Furthermore, many children from impoverished families drop out of school for no reason other than having no school shoes and cannot walk to school barefoot. At UWSA, we have taken it upon ourselves to assist these learners by proving school shoes - helping them regain their confidence to continue going to school.
United Way South Africa would like to extend thanks to Ford for the above-mentioned contribution.
